About the role

The Role

The Construction Quality Engineer – Mechanical provides daily, field‑based quality oversight of mechanical and civil construction execution, quality documentation, and turnover readiness in support of Refinery projects. This role supports construction activities executed as part of project work, including work performed during TAR windows and work executed outside of TARs during normal operations. The role verifies that mechanical and civil construction activities are executed in accordance with Issued for Construction drawings, project specifications, approved work practices, and applicable codes, and that completed work is suitable for Mechanical Completion, System Handover, and safe commissioning and startup. The role interfaces closely with Construction, Contractor QC, Commissioning, Operations, and Discipline Engineers to ensure quality requirements are embedded at the workface and verified prior to turnover milestones.

Scope includes mechanical and civil construction activities associated with piping systems, fixed and rotating equipment, tanks, structural steel, foundations, concrete, and packaged equipment with integrated mechanical components.

In addition to field execution responsibilities, the role may be assigned to support one‑off supplier inspection activities such as Factory Acceptance Tests, final inspections, or equipment verification activities, acting in an inspection support capacity under defined scope and direction.
