The Story

When you join a network of global experts

Simon joined DNV as an Approval Engineer shortly after graduating in Maritime Engineering in Denmark and Sweden. Today, he works with the certification of materials and components, including engines and pressurized equipment, helping ensure they meet strict quality and compliance requirements.

His interest in the maritime industry started long before university.

“Sailing has been a passion of mine since childhood. It sparked my interest in the maritime industry and ultimately led me to study Maritime Engineering.”
 

Learning and growing every day

Like many graduates entering their first professional role, Simon initially found it challenging to understand the scale and complexity of a global organization.

“At first, it felt overwhelming. There were so many processes, people and areas of expertise to understand.”

What helped him settle into the role was the support of colleagues across DNV.
