Nicole - Marketing and Communication Manager

Turning complex energy challenges into clear, customer-focused stories, Nicole helps connect DNV’s expertise with the people and organizations shaping a safer, smarter and more sustainable future.

The Story

When customers need a trusted voice

When Nicole joined DNV in February 2025, she was already familiar with the company through her work in the renewable energy sector. DNV had long stood out to her as a trusted and respected organization, but it was the people she met during the recruitment process that convinced her to take the next step.

"Every conversation left me feeling energized," she says. "I could see myself learning from and working alongside such a talented group of people."

Today, as a Marketing and Communication Manager in the Electric Grid business, Nicole helps connect DNV's expertise and solutions with the customers who need them most. From developing marketing strategies and campaigns to supporting product launches and creating customer-focused content, her work helps organizations understand how DNV can support a safer, smarter and more sustainable energy future.

Building a career at the intersection of technology and energy

Nicole's career has been shaped by a passion for communicating complex ideas in a way that creates value for customers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and an associate’s degree in graphic design and has spent more than 15 years working in marketing across industries including real estate, medical devices, software and renewable energy.

Before joining DNV, she was Director of Marketing at a renewable energy technology company focused on autonomous drone inspections and software solutions for wind farm operators.

"I've always been interested in the intersection of technology, innovation and energy, and DNV gave me the opportunity to continue working on challenges that have a real impact," Nicole explains.

Turning expertise into impact

Ask Nicole what she enjoys most about her role and the answer comes quickly: combining creativity with strategy.

"I love taking complex solutions and turning them into messages and campaigns that resonate with customers. It's rewarding when you can help people better understand a challenge and see the value of a solution," she says.

No two days look the same. Her schedule might include product team discussions, leadership meetings, campaign planning sessions and conversations with customers. Between meetings, she creates content that supports customers throughout their journey, from blog posts and LinkedIn content to webinar presentations, emails and sales enablement materials.

She is currently focused on several major initiatives, including DNV's Electric Grid User Seminar, one of the business area's largest customer events, as well as long-term marketing planning.

Feeling proud of the work you do

One of the most rewarding parts of Nicole's role is seeing how DNV's solutions help customers address real-world challenges.

Through customer success stories and conversations with utilities across North America, she has been able to hear firsthand how DNV's expertise supports better decision-making, improves data quality and helps organizations operate more effectively.

"While I'm not the person developing the software, I get to help tell the stories about the impact it creates," she says. "Hearing directly from customers about the difference our solutions make makes the work feel very real."

For Nicole, one project stands out in particular: the Electric Grid User Seminar (EGUS). The annual event brings together customers from across North America to share experiences, learn from one another and discuss industry challenges.

A culture built on trust and flexibility

For Nicole, one of DNV's greatest strengths is that work-life balance is more than just a principle. It's something people practise every day.

Employees are trusted to manage their work, take time to recharge and balance professional and personal responsibilities. Combined with supportive colleagues and leaders, that flexibility helps create an environment where people can perform at their best.

"There's an understanding that everyone has responsibilities outside work, and that trust makes a huge difference," Nicole says.
