Jessica's Journey: Navigating Growth and Cultivating Excellence at DNV
Jessica Goossens, now the manager of the IT Audit team, encapsulates this blend of agility and excellence. Since joining DNV in 2022 as an IT auditor in the IS Assessment Services team (ISAS), Jessica's career trajectory has been remarkable. From auditor to team lead and now, stepping into the shoes of a Manager who pursued a new venture, Jessica has not only embraced these roles but has thrived in them.
The Thrill of Building and Growing
Growth is what excites Jessica the most. "When I was offered the leadership role, I accepted it without hesitation. The ambition to expand our department, to innovate and push boundaries, is what excites me the most. Life is too short not to pursue your passions."
Adapting and Excelling:
Of course, there was an adjustment period, says Jessica. “But that’s fine. It’s a lot of learning on the job, something you’re used to as an IT auditor, because you are often exposed to new environments. We have plenty of colleagues at DNV ready to help, there's a culture of support where everyone goes the extra mile for one another."

Diversity in Work and Learning
Jessica fondly recalls her previous roles in the team. “The work as an IT auditor is very diverse. You assess the quality and reliability of our clients' IT systems and processes. These include many IT companies like data centers and hosting providers, but also payroll administrators and bailiffs. You’re always dealing with crucial systems. Everything depends on good IT.”
"At DNV, there isn’t just one path to becoming an IT auditor. We welcome juniors, offering training and opportunities to earn credentials like the RE (Registered IT Auditor) title. You choose your area of expertise, whether it’s IT Management or Business Process Control, and grow at your pace.”
A Personalized Development Journey
The transition from IT auditor to team lead meant that Jessica began coaching colleagues. "Guiding colleagues through the IT audit process and beyond, I customize my coaching to enhance their strengths and address areas for growth. It’s about fostering not just skills but confidence and excellence in client interactions."
“For example, one colleague might be very strong in content but could use coaching for client meetings. Another might be great with client contact but need help building a case file. Everyone is different, and that’s fine. What matters is the quality of the work outcome.”
