What do you do at Veracity?

I am a UX/UI Designer for the Veracity web experience. Specifically, I manage and monitor the usability of our Marketplace its related pages. By conducting tests and workshops, I can better understand our customers pain points and difficulties when navigating our pages. My goal is to improve the journey, ensuring the user has easy access to navigate the pages and get inspired by our services.

Why did you decide to join Veracity?

I always viewed Veracity as the innovation hub of DNV - I knew they were a step ahead in terms of pioneering solutions. Recognizing improvements that their digital interfaces could use, I felt that I could contribute a great deal. It was incredibly timely that Veracity launched the “Innovation Framework”, this has been a great tool in enabling changes and design-centric thinking.

Before joining, I also had the privilege of meeting some of the Veracity team and got a great impression of the working culture. In my 3 years here, the atmosphere continues to be open-minded, friendly, and respectful.

What do you like most about working at Veracity?

I have great colleagues - both in my team and across Veracity. I love the way my team works together; it’s structured, yet agile and allows for plenty of innovative thinking. I also enjoy the challenges posed by Veracity, it makes the job much more exciting and rewarding. I have learned so much about B2B business and my learning curve is still going strong.

Beyond work, I love all social and active opportunities that DNV has to offer; I often join the kayak training sessions as well as the aerobics and yoga classes.

Tell us about a cool project you have previously worked on at Veracity that you’re most proud of.

There have been a few Veracity milestones that I have been proud to be a part of. For example, the launch of the ‘Checkout’ page or the ‘Veracity Help Centre’ that helped reduce and streamline support requests from our users. When the data proves that UX design is boosting performance, that’s where I get a great sense of satisfaction!

Another project that I’m quite proud of is the Veracity Design System (VUI). When I arrived, there was limited coordination or consistency between teams regarding design. To rectify this, the design team came together and began to build a common component library that was also in tune with the developers’ digital component library. This is one of the project I’ve been involved in and pushed for; it’s been a necessary step to keep consistency in our design, increase efficiency and make a unified experience for our users.

What are you currently working on?

We are in the midst of launching a new and improved Veracity header that will improve the sign-in and registration process, as well as improve the technical stability of the site. In parallel, we’re also launching a ‘Subscriptions and Payments’ section for all our Veracity users. Here, users will have full oversight of their purchases and the ease to renew their subscriptions at the click of a button.

What do your ‘out-of-office’ hours look like?

I enjoy skiing, yoga, climbing and running. I ran a half marathon last year and am challenging myself with going the full distance this year! I also love to sew, draw cook. And finally, I love being a mum; I have two little rascals that keep me on my feet.

What’s one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?

I once won 1st place at a redesign sewing competition sponsored by Fretex. The prize was a super sewing machine that is still going strong today. My submission was outfit made entirely of recycled socks from the abandoned wardrobe of my in-laws!
