Albert - Senior Surveyor

When I joined DNV, I met someone who gave me a very good advice. If you want to grow, this is the train you get on board and you go, and this is the mentality, the culture in DNV. My name is Bertran Albert. I'm the senior surveyor at DNV Aberdeen. What I'm the most proud of is I know I will be part of something much bigger. The why I do it is to make sure that the industry is safe. As a surveyor, you look at different aspects, um, the technical aspect of the vessel, uh, the structural integrity of the vessel, and you also look a lot into the statutory requirements towards compliance of the vessels. The Culture is a very friendly culture. It's a very open door policy. Somewhere someone knows something and it's accessible. We are a very close team It doesn't matter what type of work we are on, there's always someone that knows something and can obviously, um, give you the technical support. As we know, this is an industry that never sleeps. It's seven days a week, 365 days a year, and we have to have a possibility to have a good work balance in this situation, and this is what DNV encourage all the time, you need to be able to focus on yourself first to be able to focus on others. Since I started with DNV Day one, it was a program for us to just grow different courses, different technical support. It was all day given for us. This is a very dynamic industry to work in. It's very rewarding. It's not a boring day. Every day is a new challenge. And if you want to learn something exciting every day in your life, I think this is the right place to.
