Vanessa - Regional Communication Manager

My name is Vanessa. I'm a Regional Communications Manager at Business Assurance. I started out as a Southeast Asia Marketing Manager and I ascended into Regional Comms Manager. After that, I took a secondment with Global Communications at Norway. It broadened my horizons, really, working with the local Norwegian team and other global colleagues. The one thing that really makes me smile when I talk about working at DNV and that really anchors me to stay at DNV, it is our culture. I have a career in DNV but I'm also a mother, I'm also a daughter to my parents. So there are times where I'm needed at home or at medical appointments and I'm very glad for the support and the understanding from my line managers who provide me that kind of flexibility. Another time that I felt most appreciated was when I announced to my line manager that I was pregnant. I was a bit apprehensive at sharing the information with her. She was really genuinely happy for me. She said “You know what, you don't have to tell me when you're coming back. When you're ready, then we'll talk about it then.” And I really appreciated that. I feel the most appreciated when I contribute, be it small or large. I'm glad that I have found a place that can really make you feel special no matter what job you're doing.
