I'm Cristina Saenz de Santa Maria. I've been in Singapore now for 7,5 years. I joined DMN straight from university, so it's the only company I've worked for.  I started as a surveyor. That is truly what I wanted to do. So that was really a dream for me, that I was given the opportunity to go on board a vessel and work. I personally never had a plan when I started on how my career was going to look like. I just wanted to learn and do interesting things. Maybe I was not 100% ready for all the roles I was given the opportunity to do, but I think the organization saw the potential and I just jumped into the opportunity. So I think it's very important to have both the organization supporting you and the individual itself taking that leap of faith. That's also one of the uniqueness about DNV. I feel you're not alone, right, it's not up to one person to take all the load of a decision or a responsibility, right? Singapore is really a place where there's a lot of happening when it comes to the shipping industry. And I think it's a privilege, I think, for us to be here representing DNV, advocating for the decarbonization and all the transformations that the shipping industry is going through. I think that's when you really can see tangible progress on the energy transition in this industry. After having worked here for 20 years and as the years passed by, I truly appreciated the values and the culture of the company. And that's why I couldn't think of another place to be working at, actually.
