About the role

Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and contributing to a more inclusive workplace this summer?

The DNV North America DEI Program Management Office is seeking a DEI Summer Intern to join our team in Summer of 2025. This role will focus on developing communications, learning content, and presentations, as well as leveraging data and data analytics for storytelling.

The DEI Summer Intern role will be a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either the Katy, TX; Medford, MA; or Oakland, CA USA offices. The role will report directly into the North America DEI Program Management Leader based in our Katy, TX office. Further details regarding role-specific requirements and location will be covered during the interview process.

What You’ll Do

The DEI Intern’s primary role will be to support the North America DEI Program Management Leader with the design, execution, evaluation and communication of programs, initiatives, and projects that help foster a more inclusive, equitable workplace culture, in alignment with our organizational strategy, global DEI ambition, and regional DEI goals.

  • Program Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of DEI programs and initiatives.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on best practices and trends in DEI and provide actionable recommendations to enhance DNV's DEI strategy.
  • Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of DEI events, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Communication: Design and develop DEI-related content for communications, including newsletters, social media, and internal announcements.
  • Data Management: Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting DEI-related data and metrics, striving to transforming data into compelling, visual stories.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including our seven Employee Resource Group (ERG) leadership team and our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, to promote DEI initiatives and foster an inclusive culture.

The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. For the states of California, Washington, New York, Washington, D.C., Illinois, and Maryland only, the starting pay range for this role is $25-$30/hour.

About you

What is Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Sociology, Communications, Psychology or a related field.
  • Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles and trends.
  • Strong cultural competence skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening.

What is Preferred

  • Experience with graphic design, video editing, data analysis, and/or graphing tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
