We are now looking for graduates who want to join our Technical Trainee Program within the Maritime Business starting August 2026, and we are primarily hiring candidates with relevant Master Program specialization from:

  • Naval Architecture & Marine Technology
  • Hydrodynamics & Structures
  • Cybernetics
  • Automation
  • Computer Science

We will select coming graduates based on business needs aligned with your education, experience, and background. Please indicate your master program specialization and/or main area of study during the application process.

Ship Classification is the backbone of our Maritime business, delivering trusted approval, verification, and certification services for vessels and components worldwide. Through expert governance and global processes, we ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Our Approval Centre, with teams in Gdynia, Hamburg, and Oslo (Høvik), offers a professional and collaborative environment where you can grow your expertise, expand your network, and make a real impact in the maritime industry.

What to expect as a Technical Trainee in Ship Classification:

  • The program lasts for 16 months and will be split into three- or four-month modules where we aim to give you a solid start on your career within Ship Classification. The modules will introduce you to our daily operations within Ship Classification and you will be working within different, relevant technical disciplines, where 4-6 months will be abroad.
  • You will be a part of our Maritime organizations and be involved in the daily life of surveyors, approval engineers and technical support. You will work together with some of our most experienced and knowledgeable employees and gain valuable technical experience.
  • You will become well acquainted with the DNV company culture and organization, expand your network and gain relevant work experience. We can promise you it will be an interesting, challenging and fun experience!
