We are now looking for engineers to strengthen section Engine and Pressurized Equipment in Hamburg. You will be part of an engaged group driven by people’s competence and motivation to help and support our customers through consistent delivery of high-quality services.

The Approval Centre Europe (M-SA) within Maritime Ship Classification consists of six production departments, located across three different locations (Gdynia, Hamburg and Oslo (Høvik)). The main delivery from the Approval organization is approval, verification and certification services for different maritime related assets in accordance with our rules.

Section/Task description

The Engine and Pressurized Equipment section is part of the Approval Center Europe in DNV Maritime Ship Classification. We are international and Cross-location team with colleagues working in Oslo and Hamburg.

As an approval engineer in our section, you will become part of a highly qualified team focusing on machinery systems like 2- and 4- stroke engines, turbochargers, fuel cells and pressure vessels. We are responsible for approval of ship systems against DNV classification rules and international regulations (IGF- code). Our section is working closely together with manufacturers. Furthermore, contact with yards, design offices and ship manager are particularly important.

About you

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • Holds an engineering degree (B.Sc.), preferably within shipping trade
  • Ideally has experience in the design, fabrication, and testing of refrigerated transport systems for perishable food
  • Is familiar with certification processes for manufacturers of pressurized equipment
  • Has strong experience with digital technologies, business processes, and data management
  • Can manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Is willing to travel to support clients and our global organization
  • Is self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Demonstrates the ability to build trust, confidence, and respect
