Senior Consultant – Green shipping
Do you want to become a trusted voice in the green transition of shipping?
The Environment Advisory section in DNV Maritime supports our customers with making informed decisions on environmental technology, low/zero emission fuels, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and environmental policy. With more than 20 years of service delivery on ship emissions and abatement strategies, our interdisciplinary team has expertise both down to the details and along the bigger lines.
We are now entering an era of profound change driven by the industry’s need to decarbonize under IMO’s approved Net-Zero Framework (NZF) and FuelEU Maritime, as well as increasing pressure to reduce the industry’s environmental impact. The decarbonization of shipping will increase cost and complexity, as the use of low GHG intensity fuels will be mandated. We help stakeholders across the maritime industry with navigating this new era, managing risks and opportunities.
Our section is uniquely positioned to provide trusted knowledge and advice as a basis for investment decisions and the development of government policy and regulations. Working at the intersection of technology, economics, and policy, our competence is highly sought both in the industry and in the public sector. Our section is among other things responsible for the Green Shipping Program, The Nordic roadmap project for future fuels, the Alternative Fuels Insight platform and the annual DNV Maritime Forecast to 2050. We also work closely with the industry on assessments related to issues such as ship recycling and biofouling, and we are the Norwegian NOx Fund’s technical advisor.
Due to a high and increasing demand for our knowledge and services, we are now looking for new senior colleagues to strengthen our team.
The right candidate will contribute to:
- Assisting clients in the transition to low GHG emission fuels – representing new risks and opportunities for shipping stakeholders
- Performing feasibility studies of low- and zero emission solutions, including maritime batteries, fuel cells, LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels, CCS, nuclear and other emission reducing technologies
- Assessing barriers and drivers for energy transition and technology uptake, including regulatory development, economics and financing, and market drivers
- Assisting clients ranging from shipping companies to authorities and incentive schemes with developing environmental strategies and approaches for implementing emission abatement solutions
- Performing analyses and assessments related to a broad range of environmental issues such as emissions to air, biofouling, ship recycling, lifecycle assessment (LCA), and ESG
- Leading complex technology and policy projects, delivering structured and high-quality reports
- Marketing, sales, and business development related to the above
