About the role

The Structures department, with around 150 professionals based in Norway (Høvik, Stavanger, Trondheim) and Germany (Hamburg), serves as a leading competence center within DNV for structural integrity services in the offshore industry. Specialized areas include Fixed & Floating Structures, Concrete Structures, Geotechnics, and Marine Operations. Key services encompass Verification, Technical Advisory, and Nobel Denton Marine Services, such as 3rd party verification and Asset Integrity Management.

Additionally, the department collaborates with other DNV regions and business areas, including Offshore Class, Renewables Certification, and Digital Solutions, to pioneer next-generation software and frameworks for structural analysis and design.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing technical work in integrated multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Executing business development and sales activities.
  • Mentoring younger engineers.
  • Assisting clients with soil investigation programs.
  • Interpreting soil data.
  • Conducting structural integrity assessments through FE analysis.
  • Evaluating probability of failure and qualify new technology.
  • Working with various assets, including energy islands, wind turbines, anchors, pipelines, subsea foundation, aquaculture facilities, and infrastructure.

About you

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering with a specialization in structural engineering and geotechnics.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a geotechnical engineer.
  • Demonstrate design experience.
  • Advantageous to have experience with anchors and or probabilistic methods.
  • Familiarity with the offshore industry and relevant markets.
  • Display a positive attitude and contribute effectively to team dynamics.
  • Commercial mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in a Scandinavian language, preferably Norwegian, is advantageous.
