DNV’s Wind & Solar Technology Testing Team delivers high-quality analysis to ensure that wind turbines, solar plants, hydroelectric and other conventional power plants perform to expectations. We are engineers, scientists and business professionals dedicated to the success of energy industry. Through measurements, simulations and certification processes, we verify that power plants will produce energy in line with expectations and have a useful lifetime consistent with their design.
In particular, the Power Quality Team consists of electrical engineers who verify Grid Code Compliance performance for power plants. The team conducts Fault Ride Through (FRT) tests and manages power quality measurement equipment around the globe, with an emphasis on our home region in Italy.
You are ambitious and eager to manage projects with leading energy players, developers, and owners. You want to work mainly at client facilities (electrical power plants) worldwide - especially in Italy- for at least 60% of your time. You are keen to apply your technical, hardware, software, and engineering skills by running complex analyses and are excited to join a company whose technical expertise spans the energy industry.
You are a trained engineer or scientist with a keen eye for detail and a sense of urgency in effectively communicating your observations and proposed solutions. Main Responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning of measurement systems for Grid Code Compliance or Power quality verification on power plants
- On-site testing, data monitoring and analysis
- Troubleshooting on data acquisition systems and sensors
- Measurement equipment specification, procurement and preparation
- Monitoring and analysis of data from measurement campaigns according to international and local standards and internal best practices
- Technical report writing, critical reviewing and professional presentation to clients
- Project management of power quality measurements projects (scope, schedule, costs)
- Bid management, including contract review, technical analysis, and documentation
- Develop tools and processes to continuously improve the quality and value of delivery.
