About the role

DNV has carried out power failure and other non-conformity investigations since its inception over a century ago and has since built up a wealth of experience in such investigations, as well as a structured approach taking all possibilities into account in our fully impartial and independent way. DNV performs failure investigations on both system and component levels and investigations on components with degradation signs. Expertise is available for all power grid components like transformers, switchgear, (land and submarine) power cables, overhead lines, insulators, transmission towers, surge arrestors, capacitor banks, storage systems, rotating machines, secondary equipment, power system stability, earthing, protection, EMC, cyber security, etc. The combination of the various expertise areas is often required, as failures happen in a network where components are linked together and interact. This, together with our structured approach and our world-class leading laboratory possibilities enables us to investigate each failure with the highest quality and highest chance to get to the actual root cause of the failure.

You will find this expertise within (or outside) DNV GL and lead the team towards a high-quality result. You will also incorporate testing or other methods to collect further evidence. You will incorporate structure methods as well as visualization methods to bring the message to customers and possibly other involved parties (like insurance companies, investors, lawyers and courts).

As a senior consultant, you will not only work with a team of professionals, you will be responsible for the acquisition, management and execution of projects.
