About the role

DNV Business Assurance Denmark is looking for an enterprising and experienced Food & Beverage Manager. This role will be key to ensure that our organization keeps growing, developing, and strengthening its position in the Food & Beverage industry sector, which is a key strategic sector globally for DNV. A sector where DNV has a leading global position within food safety and ambitions to strengthen this position even more.

As Food Manager your mission will be to build, lead, and grow our team of auditors, while also focusing on business development. You will be in the foreground of identifying market trends and opportunities. You will contribute to the key customer management and collaborate closely with the sales team.
You will manage the entire team of Food Auditors in Denmark, including subcontractors, and will report to the Area Manager Denmark and be part of the management team.

Your main areas of responsibilities:

  • Act as Ambassador of the Company. You will be the face of DNV for the Food & Beverage sector in Denmark, Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland. You will represent DNV, both internally and externally: maintaining key customers contact and new customers relationship building, but also being the go-to person to other DNV departments and providing direction to our Food team. Through your leadership you will ensure that DNV is future fit and has an impact.
  • Act as Key Customer Manager. You will be responsible for some of our Key Customers who are among the largest Food & Beverage companies in Denmark.
  • Take Food & Beverage sector ownership. You will lead the community of Food & Beverage auditors in our 4 teams: Food safety, Aquaculture, Animal Welfare and Inspection. The daily operations and challenges are handled by team coordinators with high technical competence. You will have full accountability for reaching the business goals and delivering the targets for the Food & Beverage sector. You will set the direction, define, and put in place plans and actions to meet operational KPI’s on lead time, quality and performance activities.
  • Have a direct impact on business development. With a solid business awareness and commercial mindset, you will create and contribute to business opportunities for DNV, that will also benefit our existing and future customers.
  • Develop an engaged and high performing team. You know how to provide your team with strategic clarity and direction. You will engage with your team around DNV’s purpose, vision, and values, and will have a positive impact on its culture. You will commit to attracting and retaining competent and diverse talent in your team.
  • Find solutions that work. You will capitalize on your people and leadership skills, being responsible for fast decion-making in customer questions, handling challenging people or business situations.
  • Build relationships. You understand what DNV can offer to make our customers successful and will build lasting relationships with them. At the same time you will ensure quality in deliveries and interactions with your colleagues, internal customers, and stakeholders. In addition, you will work closely with other DNV local units to coordinate deliveries, qualifications and capacity. And not be an active contributor to the global DNV Food Safety network.

What you bring in terms of qualifications & skills:

To enjoy and become successful in this role, you bring:

  • Consistent experience in food safety, in addition to knowledge of food, animal welfare and aquaculture standards and certification services, relevant to the supply chain in the Food & Beverage sector.
  • Leadership experience. You will receive a compelling onboarding and induction of the organization, processes, and tools, but you need to have a solid background in leadership or previous managerial position.
  • Desire to drive. You are a leader with strong project management skills and have the ambition to lead and drive the Food & Beverage team.
  • Solid organizational skills. This is a fast-paced role, with a mix of proactive actions, routine or reactive activities, but also swift decisions. The right candidate will be able to juggle multiple priorities and work well under pressure, with pragmatism.
  • You bring energy into the room. We are looking for team players who have a natural preference for showing ambition, stamina, and being energetic. At the same time, you possess emotional intelligence to understand what drives and motivates others, to acknowledge and embrace the team’s diversity.
  • Learning agility. You have the ability to learn and understand a portfolio of complex products and services and are able to talk about them to our clients.
  • Bachelor+ degree or equivalent experience, preferably in food technology or similar.
  • A good command of verbal and written Danish and English is required.
