Sandra - Global Mobility Specialist

Sandra’s journey at DNV shows how curiosity and courage helped her grow from a finance student into a confident Global Mobility specialist.

The Story

Growing through curiosity, courage, and global connections

Sandra joined DNV as a summer student in the finance department, where she grew her skills and built the foundation she still uses today: attention to detail, ownership, and the confidence to explore new areas. Her finance background, paired with her open mindset, later became the key to embracing a completely new direction - Global Mobility.

The move to Global Mobility wasn’t originally on Sandra’s roadmap. “I applied for a different internal role – and I didn’t get it”, she says, “but within a year, I was encouraged to apply for a Junior Global Mobility role, so I took the leap and haven’t looked back”. This decision to seize this opportunity opened a whole new chapter for Sandra, one she’s embracing.

For Sandra, it’s the energy of working with people around the world and supporting assignees through complex moves that drives her. “Every case is different, every week brings something new, and that constant challenge motivates me daily,” she says. “People trusted me early on, and that trust has strengthened my confidence. I’ve really noticed the change in myself over the years.”

What keeps her working at DNV is simple: “The people and the culture. The sense that colleagues genuinely care for each other and work together toward a shared purpose.” Sandra’s personal experience means she believes in staying open: open to new roles, new projects, and new perspectives. Her advice for anyone building a career in DNV?

“Talk to people. Be curious. Say ‘yes’ even when something feels slightly outside your comfort zone, because the opportunity you’re looking for may be just around the corner.”
