The Story

From Finance to Cyber Security  

Łukasz began his DNV journey in Cash Management within Finance, gradually taking on broader responsibilities - this led him from Team Leader and Global Process Owner roles into IT as an Information Security Professional. 

In his current role he helps ensure that we operate safely in an increasingly digital world. His work focuses on assessing the security of vendors, responding to customer security questions and guiding internal teams to follow good security practices. “In simple terms, I help stop cyber risks before they become problems,” he explains. 

What excites him most about the role is the direct impact. “It’s a good feeling to see that what you do actually keeps people and systems safe,” Łukasz says. 

Growing through experience 

His development followed our 70/20/10 model very naturally. “Most of my learning (70%) came from hands-on experience – taking on roles with increased responsibility and exposure before moving into IT where I worked on real security assessments and cross-team projects. Daily collaboration with colleagues and managers played a major role (20%), supported by formal training (10%) that helped build a solid foundation in Information Security,” he explains. 

Feeling proud of making a difference 

One of the achievements I am most proud of is leading an improvement to the automated payments process in the UK, which significantly reduced bank fees across thousands of transactions. What made it special was how a relatively small change delivered a big impact: lower costs, the same level of automation, and minimal effort for end user. 

“Seeing such clear outcomes and collaborating across Finance and IT teams made it very rewarding. It’s a great example of how DNV’s supportive environment, where your ideas are valued and heard, enables you to make a difference,” he says.  

Earning trust every day 

At its core, Łukasz’s role is about protecting what matters. By ensuring that vendors and IT services meet DNV’s security standards, supporting security requests and applying recognised frameworks, his work helps reduce risk and maintain trust. 

That responsibility is something he takes pride in. For Łukasz, working at DNV means contributing to quality, integrity and reliability. “It feels good to be part of a company where what you do every day actually matters,” he says.
