The Story
Joining as intern, staying for longer
Jayasudha joined DNV as an intern and that short time was enough for her to decide that DNV is a place where she would like to stay for longer.
“What really made an impact on me was the steep learning curve and the opportunity to work on diverse, challenging projects across the power sector. This, combined with collaborative culture, exposure to innovative solutions, and constant professional growth have made my internship a truly rewarding experience,” she says.
When she heard about the opportunity to join DNV as full-time as a Power System Engineer in the Power System Planning (PSP) team, Jayasudha didn’t hesitate for a second. She knew that here she would be working on impactful projects and the team's focus on sustainable and reliable power systems perfectly aligned with her professional goals and interests.
Working on exciting projects
One project Jayasudha found particularly fascinating was a grid code compliance study for a hybrid renewable project combining solar, wind, and battery storage.
“It involved detailed modelling, simulations and ensuring the project met all relevant grid requirements. It was a technically challenging task that deepened my understanding of hybrid system behaviour and grid integration,” she said.
Feeling proud of the work she does
Looking back at her time at DNV, she is most proud of the technical growth she’s achieved and contributing to energy transition.
“Each project has helped me build confidence, improve problem-solving skills, and make a meaningful impact in the renewable energy space,” she shares.
Taking ownership, feeling valued
Here at DNV, we have a strong culture of respect, trust and collaboration that makes everyone feel valued and heard.
“Whether it's through positive feedback from managers or support from colleagues in exploring new ideas, we’re empowered to make an impact. My inputs are genuinely considered during discussions, and I’ve been encouraged to take ownership of tasks early on. This makes me feel I’m at the heart of it at DNV”, Jayasudha concludes.
