Jan - Principal Consultant Cyber Security

My job is to protect critical infrastructure from hackers and other malicious actors. So I go to control rooms of power plants, to ships, to refineries, and make sure they are secure, they cannot be attacked, they are resilient. there's so much that's exciting. I get to crawl under floors in data centres. I got to dig into consoles on ships. I mean, there's something fun, there's something creative. What more could I wish as an engineer? I feel valued because I see that my work contributes to something. I believe that's obvious to people in the company, to my manager or to my colleagues. And they reflect that, and it's also valuable to the customers. Oh, I think I've learned a lot since I joined DNV. The energy grid is like probably the most complex machine man has ever built. And to understand that and get in is a huge challenge. And I learn something new every day, but it's so rewarding because you know you help in keeping something secure that's at the foundation of our society. I've got the support of my manager to do what I think is right. And whether that is going to conferences, to get together with new customers, or to learn something, I have the option to do so. Oh, I really love working here because it allows me to connect with so many different customers in so many different, well, even different industries and to different topics so that I can learn something new and really Get into something, touch something, try to break stuff. I mean, how much more fun can there be for an engineer?
