The Story

Finding his place from the start

Henry joined DNV as a fresh graduate, stepping from student life into a professional consulting environment. Like many early-career professionals, the transition brought both excitement and uncertainty.

What made the difference was the people around him. "DNV felt like a warm family to me from the very beginning," he says. Through everyday collaboration and support from colleagues, he quickly settled into his role and found a sense of belonging.

Learning through guidance and experience

During his first year, Henry focused on building a strong foundation. Working closely with his manager and mentors, he gained technical knowledge and practical experience both in the office and on site.

Supported by colleagues across decarbonisation and propulsion, he was exposed to different perspectives early on. "Their guidance helped me find my footing," he explains. Having access to experienced experts helped him grow with confidence and develop his skills step by step. 

Taking on new challenges

Over the past three years, Henry has worked across a range of advisory projects, gradually taking on more responsibility.

He has contributed to technical work in areas such as decarbonisation and shaft alignment, while also stepping into roles like Bid Manager and Project Manager. These experiences have helped him build skills in communication, project delivery and commercial processes.

Keeping an open mind about the future

With experience across both technical and commercial areas, Henry is now reflecting on where to focus next. Rather than rushing into a decision, he is exploring different directions and staying curious about what motivates him most.

"I know I need to choose a path, but I'm still listening to where my curiosity leads," he says. The flexibility to explore different paths allows him to shape his career in a way that feels meaningful.

Continuing to learn and grow

Looking ahead, Henry is motivated by the opportunity to keep learning, develop new skills and take on greater responsibility. By working with experienced colleagues and contributing to impactful projects, he continues to grow both professionally and personally.
