The Story
Joining a company she believed in
Elena Silvestre Miralles began her journey with DNV over 30 years ago, inspired by a friend who spoke highly of the company. At the time, DNV’s presence in Spain focused solely on the maritime sector. She started in administrative and accounting roles, working closely with major shipyards and gaining a solid understanding of the business.
Helping build Business Assurance
After three years Elena moved to Barcelona to help establish what is now known as Business Assurance area. She was part of the team that built the foundations for management system audits in Spain, supporting auditors and clients from the very beginning.
“It felt like we were building something new together, with a strong sense of teamwork and shared responsibility. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved – both for our teams, our customers and in pursuit of our purpose,” Elena says.
A career shaped by learning and trust
Over the years, Elena has taken on a wide range of roles, including Customer Support Manager, Senior Customer Care Officer, Sales Area Manager, and Key Customer Officer. Today, she serves as Competence and Capacity Building Coordinator for Spain & Portugal, focusing on auditor competence, onboarding, sector exams, contract renewals, and systems such as Synergie and eComp.
“One of the things that I like about DNV are the many opportunities to learn and grow – whether that’s excelling in your day-to-day work or taking on new roles and contributing in different ways, there’s always something new I can learn,” she says.
Putting people are at the heart of it
Elena’s greatest passion is working with people. She enjoys supporting auditors, helping them develop their skills, and making their work more efficient. Building trust and being someone others can rely on is what she finds most rewarding.
Still motivated after 30 years
With over three decades at DNV, Elena remains motivated by new challenges and continuous improvement. She says: “I value DNV’s culture of transparency, respect, and sustainability, and feel proud to be part of a company known for quality and integrity.”
