About the role

DNV – Maritime Station Africa is seeking a Business Analyst Intern to be a key player in establishing a new DNV Office in Namibia. The position would be based in Cape Town, South Africa for 6 months starting in Dec 2024.

The role will be to analyze the current and future Maritime and Oil &Gas markets in Namibia, with respect to key players, stake holders, government ministries and relevant educational and non-governmental institutions.

The position will report to the Station Manager Africa based in Cape Town, which forms part of Area Middle East and Africa and Region Southeast Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analise the current Maritime and Oil and Gas Offshore market in Namibia.
  • Identify key companies (Maritime, IOCS and NOCs) active in Namibia.
  • Create key contact maps within the stake holder organizations in Namibia.
  • Identify and map key relevant government ministries in Namibia and their roles within the Maritime and Energy Industries.
  • Identify and map key relevant educational institutions together with key academic staff in Namibia.
  • Identify up and coming industry events in Namibia.

About you

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Maritime Law or equivalent
  • Goal and solution-oriented mindset with self-motivation, with a proactive, resilient and “can do” attitude.
  • Able to work under pressure, independently and as a team player with the rest of Station Africa as the work dictates with high professional integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Namibian national or experience with Namibia would be an advantage.
