About you

What is Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture or Marine, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Master Mariner or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Marine industry on passenger ships/cargo ships.
  • Understanding of class & statutory surveyor work and responsibilities.
  • Team player and also be able to work independently.
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job: Climbing pilot ladders & tanks, flying, flying in helicopter, crew boat launches, working in confined spaces, voyage surveys.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Approx. 25% travel is required (domestic and/or International).
  • We conduct a pre-employment background check.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills (The employee would be answering approximately 50% of his calls from English-speaking clients).
  • Bilingual (English and French) is essential.

Ce qui est requis :

  • Baccalauréat ou diplôme supérieur en architecture navale ou en génie maritime, électrique, mécanique, capitaine au long cours ou dans un domaine équivalent.
  • Minimum de 2 ans d'expérience dans l'industrie maritime sur des navires à passagers/cargos.
  • Compréhension du travail et des responsabilités des géomètres de classe et statutaires.
  • Esprit d'équipe et aussi être capable de travailler de manière indépendante.
  • Capacités physiques nécessaires pour effectuer les fonctions habituelles du travail : grimper aux échelles et aux chars d'assaut, voler, voler en hélicoptère, mettre à l'eau des bateaux d'équipage, travailler dans des espaces confinés, enquêtes de voyage.
  • Doit avoir un permis de conduire valide.
  • Environ 25 % des déplacements sont nécessaires (nationaux et/ou internationaux).
  • Nous effectuons une vérification des antécédents avant l'embauche.
  • Solides compétences en communication écrite et verbale en anglais (l'employé répondrait à environ 50 % de ses appels provenant de clients anglophones).
