About the role

Join Us in Shaping the Future of Maritime Newbuilding

The Maritime New Building (NB) Service Line at DNV plays a key role in supporting shipyards and owners across Poland and the Baltic States. From day one, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working hands on with cutting edge newbuilding projects—bringing safe, sustainable, and innovative ships to life.
We’re now looking for a Surveyor to join our team in Gdynia. If you enjoy problem solving, collaborating with passionate professionals, and want to grow your expertise in one of the world’s most influential maritime organizations, this role is for you.

Travel within the Pomeranian Voivodeship and occasional short trips abroad or across the region can be expected.

What You Will Do

  • Be at the heart of new ship construction—surveying projects from steel cutting to delivery, covering hull structures, piping, machinery, and basic electrical systems.
  • Safeguard quality and safety by ensuring full compliance with DNV rules, statutory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Work closely with project managers and colleagues to ensure seamless execution at every project phase.
  • Protect client confidentiality and uphold the high trust placed in DNV.
  • Champion safety—for yourself and everyone on-site.
  • Drive your own development, expanding your competence across multiple maritime disciplines.
  • Represent DNV in the field and support customers with your technical insight and professionalism.

About you

What You Bring

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering (interest in ship electrical systems is a plus).
  • Experience or competence in steel construction follow‑up, materials, welding (IWE/IWI), or NDT is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of class and statutory duties.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in the marine industry.
  • Fluent in Polish language and good English communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to work independently, stay organized, and deliver results.
