About the role

Area Benelux & France is part of the Maritime Region West Europe consisting of a team of approximately 100 enthusiastic and committed employees. We deliver a variety of maritime technical services to our customers from five office locations: Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre, Saint-Nazaire and Marseille.

Are you passionate about the maritime industry? We are looking for a Ship Surveyor based in Antwerp to join our highly qualified team. You will serve the maritime industry and various ship types, calling at ports in Belgium.

Main job responsibilities are:

  • Inspection and classification surveys onboard ocean-going ships for compliance with DNV Rules for Classification, statutory requirements and international standards;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ business, processes, designs, developments and documentation at all times.
  • Takes responsibility for your own competence and career development, ensuring that the appropriate authorizations are gained and kept up to date.
  • Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal / external feedback as appropriate;

About you

Position Qualifications:

  • Relevant Master/Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Maritime Industry, preferably with sea-going experience
  • An independent, self-organized team player with a positive customer-oriented mindset;
  • Asks for and acts on feedback to learn and improve;
  • Willingness to frequently travel in the Benelux & France is crucial;
  • In the possession of a valid driver’s license;
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job, such as climbing pilot ladders, tank inspections, crew boat launches, voyage surveys and flying;
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours, if the job requires.
