About the role

Area Benelux & France is part of Maritime Region West Europe. The Area delivers Newbuilding (NB) services as well as Classification and Verification of Material and Components (CMC/VMC), in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Monaco, and Switzerland with its headquarters in Barendrecht. Fleet in Service (FiS) is organized in a separate service line across the Region.

We are seeking a Material and Components (CMC) Senior Surveyor to join our team and support customers across Belgium and France, reporting to the local Team Lead

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform certification and verification of materials and components for marine and offshore applications within class and non-class related schemes
  • Conduct assessments and audits of manufacturers according to applicable maritime certification schemes.
  • Act as a technical contact point for assigned customers, working closely with internal stakeholders to manage customer relationships and deliver high-quality services.
  • Support business development activities by identifying additional certification and verification opportunities in collaboration with DNV management.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary verification projects and contribute to project-oriented technical work.

Location: South of Belgium, with frequent travel across Belgium, France and occasionally other West Europe locations

About you

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Previous qualification and experience as a Classification Society Surveyor is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and maritime components.
  • At least 5 years experience within the maritime and/or offshore industry.
  • Experience as an internal or external auditor (e.g., ISO 9001, MED) is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and control & monitoring systems will be beneficial.
  • Depending on your technical background, DNV will support your competence development and qualification journey to obtain the required certifications.
  • Valid driver's license.
