Job Description

DNV Maritime, Region Americas is seeking a Technical Service Manager (TSM) to join our Business Development team in Houston, Texas.

The Technical Service Manager serves as the primary technical liaison for designated Key Accounts and strategic customers across the Americas, with mainly focus on the Gulf and Florida clients (except cruise). Working closely with the Key Account Managers, and operational teams, the TSM helps customers maintain smooth technical operations and continuous vessel trade by providing expert guidance, problem resolution, and proactive support on technical and operational matters.

This role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure customers fully realize the value of DNV's class and statutory services while strengthening long-term customer relationships.

The Technical Service Manager will report to the Regional Business Development Manager, and be a member of the DNV Maritime Americas Business Development team.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as the primary technical liaison for designated key and strategic accounts.
  • Partner with Key Account Managers to strengthen customer relationships and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
  • Advise customers on technical, operational, and regulatory matters related to their fleet and vessel operations.
  • Resolve complex technical issues by coordinating with DNV's technical experts, operational centers, and surveyor network.
  • Support account planning, performance improvement initiatives, and customer success programs.
  • Deliver workshops, training sessions, and technical support that help customers maximize value from DNV's services and solutions.
  • Anticipate and address emerging technical challenges, industry trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer value and support business growth across the Americas.

About you

What Is Required:

  • Master or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent other maritime experience and education.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience from the maritime industry
  • Strong understanding of classification, statutory services, and maritime regulations.
  • Solid knowledge of DNV products, services, and internal networks.
  • Experience as a DNV Surveyor is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with customers and solving technical challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and work effectively in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to adapt
  • Self-starter with a proactive, creative and solution-oriented approach.
