About the role

Maritime Digital Development Full-Stack Software Developer

Class Development is about 150 people strong, and we are responsible for the maritime digital platform in DNV. Several development teams at 4 locations handle more than 400 applications, used by thousands of people internally and externally, 24/7, all over the world.

We are looking for a highly motivated Full-Stack Software Developer to further strengthen our development center in Høvik. You will be a part of the global Maritime development team tasked with delivering state-of-the-art solutions and helping customers reach their goals.

Our technology platform is a web-centric set of microservices that leverages the latest Microsoft technology stack and open-source solutions, both on-premises and in Azure. The platform is based on innovative use of web components and application composition using the latest in web technologies.We have a fully automated DevOps cycle and are open to using AI to support us during development. We have solutions out in production and many more in the works. In this position, you will play a central role in evolving our system architecture and delivering innovative solutions. The Maritime industry needs to reduce the CO2 emissions from international shipping. DNV is a key player in helping the industry reach this goal. We aim to continue our leading role as a classification society by leading the digital transition of assurance in the maritime market and taking new third-party roles towards a wider part of the value chain. We strongly believe that our digitalization initiatives are important tools to help achieve this.

Day to day, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of UX designers, software developers, data scientists and domain experts on creating solutions, understanding and solving real problems, and seeing them through to completion
  • Promote architecture and security best practices
  • Design and develop value-adding applications where data and AI agents are core parts of the product.
  • Implement microservices and micro frontends using best coding practices
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology
  • Take responsibility of the quality of the code running in production and plan for improvements
  • Expose, share and discuss technology with a large network of like-minded colleagues.

About you

To qualify, we need you to have:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or similar experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience in designing, developing, and delivering robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using the Microsoft technology stack, including .NET (C#), React, TypeScript, WebComponents, WebAPI GraphQL, MS SQL.
  • Solid experience with SPA applications using React, Typescript and WebComponents
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture styles / APIs and system design
  • Experience in the full lifecycle of application development
  • Experience with agile development practices
  • Fluency in English
