About the role

The Asia Area Manager is responsible for driving business growth, market development, and strategic client engagement for DNV Industrial Services across Asia, covering South-East Asia, East Asia, India and Australia.

The role leads the expansion of Industrial Services’ presence in the region by strengthening customer relationships, developing new opportunities, and supporting strategic bids while ensuring that operational delivery capability remains aligned with market growth.

The Area Manager acts as the commercial and operational leader for the region, ensuring strong coordination between country teams, global technical capabilities, and business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Market Development Leadership

  • Drive regional revenue growth through proactive client engagement and market development.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities across energy, renewables, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
  • Strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across the region.
  • Support and lead strategic tenders and major proposals within the region.

2. Strategic Client Engagement

  • Act as senior representative for key regional clients.
  • Strengthen long-term partnerships with national oil companies, EPC contractors, utilities and industrial clients.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and expanding DNV Industrial Services’ offerings.
  • Support positioning of new services including digital and AI-enabled solutions.

3. Regional Business Growth

  • Support expansion into new sectors and markets aligned with the organisation’s growth strategy.
  • Identify emerging opportunities in renewables, transmission & distribution, infrastructure and industrial services.
  • Collaborate with global teams to bring new capabilities and service offerings into the region.

4. Operational Leadership

  • Oversee delivery performance across all countries within the Asia region.
  • Ensure safe, efficient and high-quality execution of projects and services.
  • Support country teams in resource planning, mobilisation and delivery coordination.
  • Maintain alignment with global delivery frameworks and technical standards.

5. Regional Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership and support to Country Managers and operational teams across the region.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between countries.
  • Support capability development and talent growth within the regional teams.

6. Global Collaboration

  • Work closely with global operations, PMO, SMEs and innovation teams to strengthen service capability.
  • Ensure alignment with global initiatives, digital tools and innovation programmes.
  • Contribute regional insights to global strategy and market development discussions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in industrial services, inspection, engineering services, or energy/infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven experience in business development, client engagement, and market growth.
  • Experience managing multi-country operations or regional teams.
  • Strong leadership, commercial mindset, and ability to operate in multicultural environments.
