About the role

The Operations Manager – Norway is responsible for leading operational delivery and supporting market development for DNV Industrial Services in Norway, one of the organisation’s most strategic markets within the offshore energy sector.

The role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of inspection and technical services supporting projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), including offshore oil & gas, subsea infrastructure, offshore wind, and energy transition initiatives.

The Operations Manager plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with Norwegian energy operators, EPC contractors, and subsea suppliers while ensuring effective coordination between inspectors, clients, and global delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Delivery:

  • Lead delivery of inspection and technical services across Norway and NCS projects.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution aligned with DNV operational standards.
  • Coordinate inspectors, specialists, and project teams supporting offshore energy projects.
  • Monitor delivery performance, client feedback, and operational risks.
  • Lead and support a team of highly qualified staff inspectors and technical specialists in Norway.
  • Foster strong team engagement with focus on employee satisfaction, professional development, and retention of key talent.
  • Ensure inspectors are effectively deployed, supported, and aligned with project and client needs.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous technical capability development.

People Leadership & Capability Development

Client Engagement & Market Support:

  • Support business development activities and strategic tenders in collaboration with the regional Business Development function.
  • Maintain strong operational relationships with key clients including energy operators, subsea contractors, and EPC companies.
  • Provide operational input to proposals and major tenders to ensure execution feasibility.
  • Contribute to strengthening DNV Industrial Services’ position in the Norwegian offshore energy market.
  • Resource & Project Coordination
  • Plan and coordinate mobilisation of inspectors and specialists across projects.
  • Ensure effective utilisation and planning of technical resources.
  • Collaborate with global operations teams supporting international projects and large-scale programmes.

Business Planning & Reporting:

  • Contribute to operational planning including Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forward resource planning.
  • Provide regular operational updates including monthly Flash reporting and delivery performance insights.
  • Monitor utilisation, project performance, and operational indicators supporting regional and global reporting.

Operational Excellence:

  • Implement global delivery frameworks and project execution standards.
  • Ensure alignment with technical methodologies and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in delivery performance and project coordination.

About you

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in offshore energy, subsea projects, inspection, or engineering services.
  • Experience working with operators, EPC contractors, or service providers on NCS projects.
  • Strong leadership capability and experience managing technical teams.
  • Ability to operate in complex project environments and collaborate across international teams.

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Consistent and safe delivery performance across projects in Norway.
  • Strong employee engagement and retention of key technical staff.
