About the role

As a Senior Railway Signaling Engineer – LATAM, you will:

  • Review railway signaling project designs.
  • Conduct safety analyses and Independent Safety Assessments (ISA).
  • Prepare budgets and provide project cost and timeline estimates.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, identify potential risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will also communicate with stakeholders.
  • Be able to produce content for internal and external training, as well as for social media.
  • Support the growth of the railway business across Latin and Central America by developing business plans, identifying and pursuing new opportunities, and building strong client partnerships.

About you

Degree in Electronic Engineering or Automation, with an MBA or MSc in Railway Signaling Engineering or Transportation (with active CREA registration - if aplicable).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in railways, metros, or trams.

  • Familiarity with CENELEC standards EN 50126, EN 50128 (EN 50716), and EN 50129, including RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) specifications and demonstrations.

  • Experience in Safety Analysis and Demonstrations. Experience with Independent Safety Assessments and Safety Engineering.

  • Experience in preparing basic and executive designs and managing system interfaces.

  • Skilled in preparing technical documentation, drawings, studies, and related materials.

  • Knowledge and experience with signaling systems, general interlocking concepts. Knowledge of CBTC, PTC, ETCS or other relevant technologies is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills with team members, project managers, and clients.

  • Ability to synthesize and present information to teams and senior management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently and collaboratively.

  • Experience in project management, including planning, team coordination, and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating and communicating well with colleagues.

  • Fluent or advanced English.

Desirable:

  • Fluent or advanced Spanish/Portuguese.

  • Experience with industry-relevant software such as BIM, electrical system simulation tools, or others.

  • Experience with TS 50701 – Cybersecurity for Railways.

  • Familiarity with software development with a focus on safety.

  • Proof of experience through Professional Technical Collection registered with CREA (if aplicable)
