About the role

Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Market Growth

  • Develop and execute the regional Rail business growth strategy across Asia, with particular emphasis on South East Asia.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across railway systems, rolling stock, signaling, infrastructure, RAMS, cybersecurity, digitalization, sustainability, and assurance services.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and secure profitable growth aligned with business targets.
  • Lead customer engagement, proposal development, contract negotiations, and strategic bid activities.
  • Increase DNV's visibility and market share through active participation in industry events, associations, and customer forums.

Strategic Leadership

  • Support the development and implementation of regional and global Rail business strategies.
  • Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, technological developments, and regulatory changes influencing the rail sector.
  • Contribute to the development of new service offerings and innovative solutions tailored to regional market requirements.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across the rail ecosystem.

Client and Stakeholder Management

  • Act as senior customer interface for key rail accounts across the region.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with railway operators, infrastructure managers, government agencies, EPC contractors, manufacturers, and industry associations.
  • Promote customer satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
  • Work collaboratively across DNV business areas to deliver integrated solutions to customers.

Operational Excellence

  • Provide oversight of regional Rail project delivery and operational performance.
  • Support resource planning, capacity management, and competence development activities.
  • Monitor project performance, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to DNV quality, safety, ethics, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure successful project execution.

Team Leadership

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture across the regional Rail team.
  • Mentor and coach team members to strengthen commercial capability and customer engagement.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and competency growth within the Rail business.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and collaboration across multicultural teams.

About you

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Railway Engineering, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree or MBA is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience within the railway industry.
  • Proven track record in business development, operational leadership, project management, or consulting within the rail sector.
  • Strong knowledge of railway systems, infrastructure, signaling, rolling stock, safety, assurance, or related services.
  • Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and securing business growth.
  • Experience working across multiple countries and cultures within Asia.
  • Prior experience in an international consulting, engineering, certification, or assurance environment is advantageous.

  • Korean language proficiency and familiarity with the Korean railway market.
  • Additional Asian language capabilities are advantageous
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
