About Group functions

Group functions in DNV are experts on finance and accounting, human resources, communication and sustainability, legal, tax and compliance – providing company-wide support, governance and strategic projects. Group also includes our strategic Research and Development unit, which provides science-based insights and foresight to tackle transformations and challenges across the industries we serve.

About the role

DNV Group Legal is responsible for providing legal advice to all business areas on a global basis and consist of about 40 lawyers in a distributed team located at Høvik, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Hamburg, London and Houston. The Group Legal function is headed by Group Legal Director who is located at Group headquarters at Høvik and reports to the Group CFO.

Group Legal’s Corporate/M&A team is responsible for providing legal support on a global basis related to corporate law matters, including M&A transactions, corporate venture investments, internal restructurings and general advice to senior management.

DNV’s current strategy has a significant focus and ambition of in-organic growth, which drives a high level of M&A activities. DNV has also over the last couple of years built a Corporate Venture organization with significant ambitions and funds. Group Legal’s Corporate/M&A team is a key player in all of DNV’s M&A and venture activities.

We are now looking to strengthen the Corporate/M&A team at Høvik with additional capacity and competence to meet the needs of the organization. We are seeking one high-achieving corporate lawyer with a commercial mindset and experience from either a well renowned law firm or an inhouse legal position. The vacant position will primarily focus on internal restructurings and other national and international corporate/commercial matters as well as M&A and Venture activities.
The position offers great development opportunities for both legal and commercial skills.

About you

Qualifications:

  • Master of Law degree or equivalent from a Norwegian or foreign university with solid academic credentials
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant working experience from a corporate legal environment, including experience with M&A and/or venture transactions, is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both soft, oral and written.
  • Proficiency in both Norwegian and English. Other language skills are considered an advantage.
  • Strong integrity and work ethics
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management skills and experience
