Group Legal is responsible for providing legal advice to all business areas on a global basis and consists of 39 lawyers and support staff in a distributed team located in Oslo (Head Ofice), Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Hamburg, London, Glasgow, Mexico City, and Houston. The Group Legal function is headed by the Group Legal Director at Group headquarters.
The Conformity Assessment Team consists of seven lawyers and leads the support to three business areas (BA): Maritime; Business Assurance; and Supply Chain and Product Assurance (SCPA). These BA’s work with companies worldwide and predominantly delivers classic TIC services(testing, inspection, certification) also referred to as third party conformity assessment and assurance services. As one of the leading TIC companies in the world and the biggest Classification Society in the world, DNV is at the forefront of the industries we operate in and are leading the way in implementing future oriented and digital assurance services and solutions and leveraging new technology such as blockchain, machine learning, AI, and robotics.

The Conformity Assessment legal team strieves to be an instrumental enabler to acheive these targets and in advising our internal customers on the development and go-to-market strategies of new assurance services, as well as continuing to be a trusted advisor in relation to for example contracts, dispute resolution and regulatory matters and the impact on DNV’s existing service portfolio.

You will be part of a supportive team but will have the opportunity to grow your own internal customer base and shape your own legal path. It is vital that you have an interest in maritime, sustainability, and/or assurance services and are flexible and able to adapt to support the internal business with a large variety of tasks including contract negotiation, business development, regulatory, and litigation.
This role will suit someone that is either looking to transition from private practice into an in-house role, has been in a litigation based in-house role, worked for a regulator or other similar public adminstration positions but wants to take on more responsibility and the next step in their career.
Location: The position is based in Oslo, Høvik.
