About the role

DNV Group Legal department is responsible for providing legal advice to all business areas on a global basis and consist of about 40 lawyers and 5 legal operations staff in a distributed team located at Høvik, Shanghai, Singapore, Dubai, Hamburg, London, Glasgow, Houston and Mexico City.

Our new Paralegal will join Group Legal department as part of the legal operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating and coordinating training for Group Legal.
  • Overseeing knowledge management portals and promoting sharing of information and collaboration by stakeholders. Familiarity with MS SharePoint, MS Teams and i-Manage is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Conducting legal research, to support lawyers in their daily work.
  • Managing existing vendors and assessing potential new vendors to Group Legal.
  • Supporting Group Legal’s strategic projects such as the drive to gain efficiency by use of AI and other digital tools.
  • Supporting Group Legal in its search for and implementation of technical tools to automate repetitive tasks, including self-service tools.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Group Legal department including but not limited to (i) handling of the DNV Group`s global trademark portfolio and other registered IP in close collaboration with the responsible lawyer and DNV`s trademark agency; and (ii) support related to handling DNV’s insurance portfolio and claims portfolio.

About you

We are searching for a person that is service minded with a proactive attitude. This role supports the Group Legal team and operates in an executive stakeholder environment where be willing to learn and take the initiative is a must. To fit the role, you should therefore recognize yourself in the following description:

  • Experience in the legal industry (law firms, in-house) and/or with legal operations.
  • Interest in data analytics, marketing, project management, and learning and development.
  • Service-minded, agile, proactive, flexible and solution-oriented.
  • Good understanding of or desire to learn about Digital- and IT tools including Legal Tech.
  • Some knowledge of core legal areas is preferable, such as company law and contract law.
  • Excellent communication skills, in writing and orally, in English.
  • Good social, communication and pedagogical skills, with the ability to help others learn.
  • Previous experience with IP related tasks is beneficial.
  • Education as “Paralegal”/ “Advokatsekretær” / “Advokatassistent” or other relevant areas e.g. Law or Business Administration, or relevant experience that compensates for formal education.
