About the role

Imagine being in a global role, working with employee relations across the world. As a Senior Employee Relation Specialist in DNV Group People Processes, you will be part of an international team that reaches every major part of the globe and contributing to a company renowned for its commitment to safeguarding life, property, and the environment.

We are strengthening our Group People Processes team and are looking for a dedicated and experienced Employee Relations Specialist with experience in dealing with cross border employee relation as well as awareness and practical involvement in the people aspects of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) to join us.

The role involves managing global employee relations, including interactions with voluntary and statutory bodies like the DNV Global Employee Forum and the DNV European Works Council. You will support information sharing and consultations based on internal guidelines and agreements and liaise with labor law and HR experts across 75 countries. The candidate should have a deep understanding of and experience with cross-border labor relations experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle complex international labor issues.

You will work at our Høvik office in Norway, surrounded by scenic views. The team is headed by the Group People Processes, who reports to the Chief People Officer (CPO).

Main areas of responsibility for the position:

  • Serve as the point of contact for cross border employee relations bod, fostering positive and constructive relationships
  • Proactively supporting and coordinating information sharing and consultation sessions according to internal guidelines and formal agreements
  • Follow-up and ensure compliance with international labor laws and regulations including dialogues with regional and national labor law experts to facilitate timely information and consultation processes
  • Liaise with national labor law and human resources experts across global DNV organization on an ad-hoc basis
  • Provide input and guidance to management on cross border labor relations practices and policies
  • Prepare reports and presentations on labor relations activities and outcomes for senior management
  • Coordinate and prepare annual meetings including agendas with employee representatives and relevant management
  • Stay current and informed in the field of employee relations to share knowledge and insights with others
  • Coordinate and drive ESRS reporting and similar requests related to the Global Reporting Initiative (GFI) on behalf of Group People
  • Lead and participate in relevant strategic and operational group projects

About you

To thrive and succeed in the role, we believe the right candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Master-/bachelor’s degree of laws, international law, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or another related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee/industrial relations, and with a focus and experience in handling cross border employee representative bodies

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of cross border employee relations including employment law and regulations
  • Easily builds relationships and trust
  • High ethical standards and integrity – handling confidential material is critical in the role
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Good understanding of Norwegian is preferred
