For a decade, DNV’s Energy Transition Outlook (ETO) has been shaping global conversations on how energy systems evolve, providing trusted, data-driven insights to industry leaders, policymakers, and investors navigating the transition.
As energy systems become increasingly shaped by geopolitics and energy security, we are expanding our research in this critical area. We are looking for a senior researcher to help us deepen our understanding of how geopolitical dynamics influence energy markets, investment decisions, and the pace and direction of the global and regional energy transitions.
A wide variety of research areas are of interests, including foreign-, national security-, and industrial policy and geoeconomics. The ambition for the research is to capture policymakers’ priorities, dilemmas, support and strategic interventions, which increasingly add non-cost criteria and premiums to energy investment decisions and transition options.
You will join a growing research team of 15+ international researchers focusing on developing trustworthy insights about the future of energy systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analysis of geopolitical developments on a global and regional scale
- Analysis of energy security and resilience vulnerabilities and priorities
- Interaction with internal and external experts on technology, economy and politics to interpret the developments and assess impact on the global and regional energy system
- Translation of developments into assumptions and quantitative inputs to the ETO modelling as related to impacts on trade, energy supply and demand choices, and infrastructure
- Contribution to narrative in reports and presentations and associated communications
