About GSS

As the internal support organization for DNV and DNV owned companies, we deliver shared services within Human Resources, Finance, IT and Real Estate & Procurement to DNV globally. Our mission is to enable DNV to grow, succeed with its business goals and improve competitiveness. Customer experience is at the core of everything we do. GSS is responsible for many of the tools, processes and daily routines that create the backbone of DNV.

About the role

Enterprise Architecture, Data and Security is a global unit within GSS IT, responsible for enterprise architecture, data and analytics, integrations, automation, and IT security governance. As part of the ongoing Data and Analytics Transformation, the organization is moving from a legacy Business Intelligence Competency Centre (BICC) model to a federated, dual enablement model from January 2026.

Two Data and Analytics sections have been established as part of this model: Enterprise Data Enablement, focusing on enterprise data domains and corporate reporting, and Business Data Enablement, focusing on business-domain and production data platforms in close collaboration with the Business Areas.

The Business Data Enablement section is responsible for enabling domain-specific data platforms and analytics solutions together with the Business Areas. The section supports business-led data initiatives by establishing and operating modern, scalable data platforms based on technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Snowflake, depending on business needs and use cases.

As Head of Section – Business Data Enablement, you will have line responsibility for the section and service responsibility for business data enablement services delivered in close collaboration with the Business Areas. You will be accountable for developing the section’s capabilities, ways of working, and stakeholder collaboration model.

The role is highly business-facing and combines people leadership, service ownership, and active stakeholder management. You will work closely with Business Areas to design, establish, and evolve domain-specific data platforms and analytics capabilities, while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and common standards.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Line management and competence development of the Business Data Enablement team, including development and operations teams in Poland and India
  • Manage and enhance enterprise data and analytics capabilities (e.g. data warehouse, lakehouse, ingestion, and semantic layers) on our platforms
  • Develop and maintain Business Area specific solutions, such as business domain datasets, reporting, and analytics capabilities
  • Service ownership for business data enablement, including domain-specific data platforms and analytics solutions
  • Partner closely with Business Areas to understand data needs and support implementation of domain data platforms
  • Contribute to the GSS Data and Analytics Transformation from a business-domain perspective
  • Drive adoption of modern data platform technologies (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake) serving domain-specific business requirements
  • Ensure alignment between business-domain data platforms and the enterprise data platform (Microsoft Fabric based) including architecture, data and security standards
  • Build strong business relationships with stakeholders in Business Areas
  • Balance flexibility and innovation in business-domain solutions with maintainability and scalability
