As a Gas Technician - Course Delivery, you’ll be part of a team delivering large-scale demonstrations to a global customer base. Following the Piper Alpha disaster, the Cullen Report highlighted the need for Major Accident Hazard Awareness training—this is the foundation of our experiential learning. At DNV Spadeadam, you’ll be responsible for conducting live demonstrations including gas explosions, jet fires, pool fires and flammable gas releases.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and check demonstration rigs, ensuring they are set up safely and supplied with the correct fuel concentrations.
- Conduct large scale demonstrations
- Undertake all site activities in a safe manner
- Work closely with your Team Lead and fellow technicians to coordinate tasks for demonstrations and courses.
- Communicate with the Control Manager and Course Facilitator to keep schedules on track and maintain controlled safety zones.
- Support the development of new demonstration rigs in response to industry or client demand.
- Attend safety meetings such as HAZIDs and stay up to date with current test procedures.
- Communicate effectively with course delegates and clients
