About the role

Must be able to perform Independent inspections to ASME code requirements and monitor the colleagues work, Verify and provide solutions to ASME/NB clients. Reporting to their respective project coordinators, and/or project managers in execution of the task assigned.

  • Must be able to train others and authorize competencies based on their experience and knowledge.
  • Shall be able to mentor colleagues and other Engineers who ever requires any additional trainings.
  • Must be able to prepare, review, approve and edit the job-related procedures, internal dept. procedures and Checklists, both ASME and National Board procedures . Shall be able to lead a team of AIs and act as mentor for surveyors.
  • If required, he/she participates in site project meetings, discuss fabrication and construction matters related to ASME with the client and/or contractors, vendors, suppliers.
  • Must be able to review procedures, reports, method statements, and other documents related to his/her scope of responsibilities. If required, ask supports from Project Manager/Coordinator, or from Service Lead /Head of Section/Technical Manager. Ensure that inspection reports are submitted within the time frame given and agreed with the client, and are written as prescribed in DNV Guidelines in Preparing Inspection reports with required attachments and other required documentation, must be able to provide solutions to quality issues within his/her scope of responsibility, Maintain good working relationship with the client, colleagues. Must be at all times a team player and always act diligently and seriously in covering the field work and the reporting must be able to deliver/present in Shared Knowledge sessions, Departmental meetings, send Technical bulletins, follow the guidelines of DNV systems.
  • Networks with professionals in DNV and professional forums to build and share competence.
  • Able to handle complex technical and commercial issues.
  • Able to lead learning activities (trainer, tutor, course instructor)
  • The person in this position needs to routinely move about (including ascending/descending) a site facility, remote location, etc. while performing visual inspections of ASME/NB boilers and pressure vessels, review NDE reports and calculations.
  • Consistently works in outside weather conditions that may be in frigid or hot temperatures.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Physically fit to perform inspections in extreme weather conditions.

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical /Production Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years Experience on High Pressure Boilers and pressure equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • ASME , API, AWS,EN Stds.,& NBIC Code Knowledge.
  • Experience with boilers and pressure vessels, Pressure piping , PED /CE marking jobs.
  • Risk Survey experience.
  • Possess  National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission.
  • Inspector with AI , IS commission and B and R endorsement.
  • DNV offshore standards knowledge and experience in Offshore container certification.
  • Must have faced ASME and National Board accreditation audits at manufacturer locations.

Other professional qualifications are an added advantage 

  • CSWIP/ AWS  welding qualifications
  • NDT qualifications
  • ISO lead auditor qualifications
  • BGAS painting qualifications
