About the role

GreenPowerMonitor, a DNV company, is at the heart of the global energy transformation. We use data-driven digital solutions to optimize the performance of renewable energy installations around the world. Our work contributes to a more diverse, more sustainable global energy mix.

In this role, you will focus on maintaining and optimizing our current infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and performance. You will also contribute to observability efforts, including creating and maintaining monitoring solutions, and participate in projects requiring also development for managing our DataLayer infrastructure.

You will collaborate with the team to deploy Kubernetes infrastructure, but your primary focus will be on infrastructure that is not yet running on microservices. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable energy technologies while leveraging your expertise in Linux systems, virtualization, and observability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize current infrastructure, focusing on systems not yet running on microservices.
  • Design and implement observability solutions using tools like Grafana and Prometheus, including creating custom exporters.
  • Develop and maintain components of our DataLayer infrastructure using C or Golang.
  • Manage and maintain virtualization environments with various hypervisors.
  • Participate in the deployment and maintenance of Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to Linux systems, virtualization, and observability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation and deployment of systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance, reliability, and security.

About you

To thrive and succeed in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
  • Proficiency in observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus, including creating and maintaining custom exporters.
  • Development experience in C or Golang, particularly for infrastructure-related projects.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) and experience deploying and maintaining clusters.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

It is a plus if you have:

  • Certifications in Kubernetes (e.g., CKA, CKAD) or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for infrastructure and containerized environments.
  • Hands-on experience with storage solutions (e.g., Ceph, S3-compatible storage).
  • Familiarity with renewable energy or IoT systems.
