About the role

To enable Energy Systems to achieve its strategic ambitions and become future fit, we need leaders who drive business operations to meet customers’ expectations while also continuously improving the way we work.

As Head of Section, you will manage business operations to deliver services, and improve the long-term performance of the section. The Head of Section works closely with Australian and APAC colleagues on commercial opportunities to strengthen and expand business, including driving the doer/seller culture. You will direct service line activities and drive technical competence development within the section, aligned with Energy Systems strategy. The Head of Section has a strong focus on delivery, and partners with Key Account Managers, Segment Leads and other HoS in delivering an excellent customer experience. You will stimulate collaboration within the section as well across the organization. You will ensure that they have the right number of staff with the right capabilities and strive for a high performing collaborative culture and exceptional employee experience.

About you

Primary tasks of this role:

  • Ensures an efficient & consistent delivery of Energy Analytics services with a focus on wind, solar and storage projects in line with customer expectations.
  • Ensures business performance through delivery management, cost-effective business operations, scheduling of resource utilization and an aligned workforce plan.
  • Manages, nurtures and grows customer relationships.
  • Empowers employees and encourages employability and individual growth.
  • Creates a flexible workforce and automates workflows to deal with variable workload.
  • Builds and strengthens a strong internal culture based on company’s values.
  • Supports the Head of Department in strategy and decision making.
  • Stimulates a high performing culture, sets direction, is output driven and acts as a role model for an inspiring employee experience.
  • Ensures that employees have the required technical competences and owns the pipeline for technical talent.
  • Promotes team capabilities internally and externally.
  • Actively collaborates with Service Area Leaders and corresponding role (s) in other business lines to evolve the service portfolio and capture customer opportunities.

Position Qualifications:

  • Educated to at least degree level bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experienced in managing and supervising teams.
  • Experienced in dealing with customers.
  • Experience of the development process for utility-scale wind and solar projects, and service requirements for supporting development, permitting and financing of same.
  • Experience in evaluating the performance of operational grid-connected renewable energy plants would be an advantage.
  • Desirable but not essential - Experience of energy production assessments, for both wind and solar projects.
  • Desirable but not essential - Familiarity with CFD wind flow modelling, Geographic Information Systems, meteorological resource assessments and site conditions. evaluation techniques.

Physical abilities:

  • Normal office environment, regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching.
  • Some domestic and international travel to other company office locations, site locations, client offices and conferences.
  • Occasional work outdoors including site visits, traveling by car and walking on uneven terrain.
