Join DNV’s Jack-up Engineering team and work on some of the most complex offshore energy projects in the world. Make a difference and contribute to engineering assessments supporting the installation of offshore wind farms and the safe operation of offshore vessels globally.
Here at DNV, what we do matters. Whether it’s helping the Energy Industry transition to a more decarbonised and sustainable future or helping protect life, property and the environment, every day, what you do, will make a difference. This is our shared purpose and one that our people are proud to be part of.
Our specialist Jack-up Engineering Service is part of the wider Offshore Infrastructures department here at DNV. The work we do is at the forefront of implementing the green energy transition around the world today, with a focus on the installation and operation of jack-up vessels. Our team provide sophisticated solutions and engineering assessments to support offshore renewable energy installation projects around the globe, as well as ensuring safe operations for our oil and gas customers.
Our work involves solving complex engineering challenges associated with the installation and operation of jack-up vessels used in offshore wind and oil and gas projects. As part of the team, you will support the delivery of engineering analyses and technical assessments for clients operating around the world, gaining practical experience while contributing to the safe and efficient installation of offshore energy infrastructure.
Our Opportunity:
Our Jack-up Engineering team is a diverse group of structural, mechanical and geotechnical engineers specialising in the installation and operation of jack-up vessels used in offshore wind turbine installation and oil and gas activities.
Our projects are located across the globe, from Alaska to New Zealand, providing genuine variety in the technical challenges you will encounter. You will contribute to engineering assessments and analyses supporting offshore energy developments in a wide range of environments and operating conditions.
While our projects are global, this role is primarily based in our Central London office (a short walk from Waterloo and Blackfriars). Being in the office regularly at the start will help you get fully immersed in our structural and geotechnical teams and build strong connections across DNV’s offshore engineering community. Once you’re settled into the role and up to speed, we offer flexible hybrid working—typically a 3/2 split between office and home—to give you the best balance of collaboration and autonomy.
From day one, you will be supported with a structured development plan to help you grow professionally. Working alongside experienced engineers and technical experts, you will contribute to high-impact projects while developing your technical, commercial and project management skills.
As a Graduate Engineer you will develop practical experience in offshore structural analysis, jack-up vessel engineering and site-specific assessments while working on real client projects. You will have the opportunity to:
- Work alongside world-leading experts on high-profile global engineering projects
- Perform structural analyses and site-specific assessments of jack-up units and wind turbine installation vessels operating in demanding offshore environments
- Use advanced numerical modelling and engineering tools (such as Abaqus, Sesam and in-house analytical tools) to perform structural assessments
- Take increasing ownership of technical tasks within projects, supported by experienced engineers and mentors
- Develop your commercial and project management skills by gaining direct exposure to clients and involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
