About the role

DNV’s Wind & Solar Technology Testing Team helps ensure that renewable and conventional power plants perform safely, reliably, and in line with expected energy production targets. Our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and industry experts delivers independent analysis through advanced measurements, simulations, and certification services, supporting the successful development and operation of energy assets worldwide.

Within this department, the Grid Code Compliance Team specializes in verifying that power plants meet national and international grid connection requirements. The team conducts Grid Code Compliance assessments, performs Fault Ride Through (FRT) testing, and manages power quality measurement equipment across the globe, with a particular focus on projects in Italy and the wider European region.

This role is ideal for an ambitious professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with project delivery. You will collaborate with leading energy developers, owners, and operators, managing projects at electrical power plants and client sites around the world, with significant opportunities to work in Italy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of measurement systems for Grid Code Compliance or Power quality verification on power plants.
  • On-site testing, data monitoring and analysis.
  • Troubleshooting on data acquisition systems and sensors.
  • Measurement equipment specification, procurement and preparation.
  • Monitoring and analysis of data from measurement campaigns according to international and local standards and internal best practices.
  • Technical report writing, critical reviewing and professional presentation to clients.
  • Project management of power quality measurements projects (scope, schedule, costs).
  • Bid management, including contract review, technical analysis, and documentation.
  • Develop tools and processes to continuously improve the quality and value of delivery.

About you

To be a successful candidate, you must have:

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Energetic/Mechanical/Physics or any similar field.
  • A proven experience in the energy sector in consulting and project management.
  • Ability to perform electrical measurements with a multimeter, oscilloscope and datalogger
  • Proficient Italian skills and good written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish will be a plus).
  • Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of power quality measurements and grid codes.
  • Aptitude in the statistical analysis of data.

Competency Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel for at least 60% of working time.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relations with Customers.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to come up with out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Willingness to work on economic proposals, data analysis, reports and procedures.
  • Ability to work in autonomy on site at direct contact with customers, preparing the working permit and managing the test to be executed.
  • Detail-oriented and passionate for quality and efficiency.
  • Good organization and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Not mandatory):

  • Simulation skills with Power Factory DIgSILENT, Siemens PSS.
  • MATLAB, PYTHON, IMC FAMOS programming experience.
  • One-year student/works exchange program outside Italy.
