About the role

DNV’s - Energy Systems North America Region is seeking a Senior Corrosion Engineer to work in the Corrosion Advisory Services group in the Advisory Services Department in Midstream/Downstream & Labs service area. This team of engineering consultants specializes in internal and external corrosion of oil and gas pipelines and corrosion of buried metallic structures.

The primary responsibilities for this role are to deliver corrosion-related consulting services to our clients, develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients, and contribute to industry-leading innovation and thought leadership for DNV’s corrosion services.

This role is based at our DNV offices in either Dublin, Ohio or Houston, Texas presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site.

What You’ll Do:

  • Initiate, develop, and complete corrosion-related projects for DNV’s clients.
  • Collect and interpret field data, perform corrosion threat assessments, use corrosion modeling software to predict corrosion rates, and perform assessments such as Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment.
  • Develop corrosion management programs and mitigation plans in accordance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
  • Drive sales and manage the sales process by generating leads, increasing order intake, and identifying market opportunities.
  • Collaborate on project teams to develop corrosion models for oil and gas pipeline operators using Bayesian networks and enhance corrosion services.
  • Work in one or more areas of technical expertise as a Project Manager.
  • Prepare technical papers or presentations of innovative work or projects.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior engineers.

About you

What is Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) to 10 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent technical writing abilities, adept at problem-solving, strong critical thinking skills, quick to grasp technical concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate efficiently within a team, while also demonstrating effectiveness when working independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to rent and drive a car and travel on public conveyances when required.
  • We conduct pre-employment background and drug screening, as well as random drug screening to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) requirement.

What is Preferred:

  • Industry recognition in a relevant subject matter
  • Operational experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerBI and Power Apps
  • AMPP Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist Certification
  • AMPP Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2) certification or higher
  • Familiarity with Hugin software and Bayesian model development
