About the role

DNV is looking for a committed engineer with material/subsea expertise who can further strengthen our position in the oil and gas market. Our Subsea, Drilling and Well team is located both in Bergen and Høvik, and we are seeking to expand and develop our team with presence in Bergen and Stavanger area. Our team consist of highly qualified engineers working closely with key players in the O&G industry in Norway and globally.

The ideal candidate will be based in Bergen or Stavanger area and will work together with the teams in Bergen and Høvik. The main focus of the work will be on QA/QC activities related to maintenance of control systems, BOP and work over equipment. We assist the industry in maintaining integrity of technical and operational barriers for safety critical equipment, systems, and operations.

The successful candidate will work closely together with colleagues in the section and across section and departments. Your main task will include some of the following elements:

  • Review and verification of documentation for various types of equipment against manufacturer and international standards.
  • Follow up and witness testing (third- and second-party inspection).
  • Evaluate results from inspections, within welding, NDT and FAT.
  • Manage projects.
  • Assessment and/or verification of systems for inspection/integrity management.
  • Communication with our clients.
  • Support/assist on projects in the section as applicable.

About you

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Relevant university degree (M.Sc/B.Sc) or equivalent in mechanical engineering/petroleum technology or similar.
  • General knowledge of offshore and subsea system, intervention, workover systems and equipment
  • Engineering/operational experience within material/manufacturing/welding, preferably from the oil and gas industry
  • Experience with subsea drilling and well equipment, and relevant industry manufacturing standards is useful
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and control systems is useful
  • Inspector certification within welding or NDT is useful
  • Being familiar with recertification projects and DNV-RP-E101 is useful
  • Familiarity with risk analysis concepts
  • Good attentions to details with regard to equipment, documentation, maintenance, etc
  • Good communicative skills, both written and oral
  • Good English language skills, verbal and written
