We help customers navigate the complex transition to a decarbonized and more sustainable energy future. We do this by assuring that energy systems work safely and effectively, using solutions that are increasingly digital. We also help industries and governments to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place globally and regionally, in the energy industry.

About the role

Projects & Operations Risk Advisory is a section with a wide variety of services. We provide project audits and reviews of projects in development or assets in operation; we run technical due diligence for all kinds of transactions; we advise on management systems, setting them up, improving them or assessing their quality and maturity; we act as quality managers; we provide technical safety services, including barrier management, Root Cause Analysis and incident investigations; we perform quantitative and qualitative assessments of cost and schedule risk; we take the role as risk managers or risk advisors; we perform HAZIDs and HAZOPs and we take the role of Project Manager for several DNV projects.

Our services are closely linked to supporting the decarbonization path of our clients. Our customers are energy companies in the oil & gas industry, offshore wind, battery production, solar, CCS or hydrogen and ammonia production. We have projects mostly in Norway, and we team up with DNV colleagues from all over the world to provide excellent advice to our customers.

Risk advisory means analyzing documentation and assessing its compliance with expectations, rules, standards or guidelines. It also means writing or improving procedures and guidelines, which together form a management system. And it requires facilitating workshops and work processes.

With these skills, risk advisory is offered through a variety of services:

  • Technical due diligence,
  • Technical audits and project reviews,
  • Management system development,
  • Cost and schedule risk analysis,
  • Incident investigations.

About you

To be successful in this role you need to have:
  • A Bachelor, Masters, or higher degree in technical, risk management or financial related fields, industrial economics,
  • Technical background, and possibly also an economic background in risk assessments,
  • As an advantage - experience from the energy industry - oil & gas, wind, hydrogen, batteries, solar, CCS,
  • Consulting experience,
  • Joy of working on short projects, several projects at the same time and projects that are challenging one's competences and experience,
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian (written and spoken).
