About Energy Systems

We help customers navigate the complex transition to a decarbonized and more sustainable energy future. We do this by assuring that energy systems work safely and effectively, using solutions that are increasingly digital. We also help industries and governments to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place globally and regionally, in the energy industry.

About the role

Do you want to be part of the Energy Transition? – Could you contribute to a range of diverse projects that are transforming the future of global energy?

Do you want to make a real difference? - Do you aspire to tackle real-world challenges and create innovative solutions alongside industry-leading experts?

Here at DNV, what we do matters. Whether it’s helping the Energy Industry transition to a more decarbonised and sustainable future or helping safeguard life, property and the environment, every day, what you do will make a difference. This is our shared purpose and one our people are proud to be part of.

Our Opportunity:

Based in our Loughborough office, you will join our UK Performance Forecasting team within our wider Markets and Risk department.

Our highly respected Performance Forecasting team is primarily responsible for the delivery of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) studies, to forecast the performance of our customers’ energy and process facilities. Our Performance Forecasting services provide expert guidance and strategic solutions that enable businesses to predict the future performance of their assets and make informed decisions about commercial agreements, design, operations and maintenance.

These services are provided to our customers right across the energy and process sectors - from traditional industries such as Oil & Gas and Petrochemical, to more sustainable systems, in support of the Energy Transition, such as Wind, Solar, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Storage, Ammonia, Waste to Energy, etc.

As a Graduate Consultant, you’ll join our growing team of experts who love finding innovative solutions to our industry’s most challenging problems. You’ll be given real responsibility from day one, collaborating with forward-thinking customers and technical experts across our business, helping deliver career and industry-defining projects. You will be given the time to build your network, the resources to support your development, and the freedom to satisfy your curiosity and desire to learn.

Our clients are based both across the UK and internationally, so there will be opportunities for travel to sites here in the UK and occasionally overseas for client related work. The nature of your work will be varied, challenging and fast paced, working on multiple projects simultaneously, as you contribute to the delivery of technical projects for our clients. You’ll utilise your skills and experience to determine findings, draw conclusions and develop recommendations for our clients, communicating these through client reports and presentations.

Our consultants evolve and grow in a variety of different ways, however typically you will specialise in a few technical areas/industries and often progress into project management, overseeing our key strategic projects.

You’ll be stretched but always supported, so don’t worry if the Energy Industry or terminology above is unfamiliar to you, we will teach you all you need to know. Upon joining, you’ll receive a buddy to help you settle in, a mentor to enhance your technical knowledge, as well as ongoing on-the-job coaching and support from your colleagues.

Our structured Graduate Programme therefore provides a fantastic start to your career, enhancing both your technical and professional skills and supporting your journey towards chartership and becoming an expert in your chosen field.
