About the role

We are looking to strengthen our team with a consultant located in Hamburg who will be part of the Northern Europe team of pipeline operations and integrity specialists. The pipeline operations team spans experts in Oslo, Hamburg and Groningen who collaborate closely to support energy companies, suppliers, authorities, and other industry players as an independent service provider. We are recognized as the leading advisors providing operational-phase assurance for pipelines and other assets, both onshore and offshore, throughout their lifecycle from concept, through operations and re-qualification, to decommissioning.

The pipeline operations team delivers a broad suite of services within condition assessments and maintenance planning, technology development and qualification of e.g. pipelines for hydrogen and CO2 transport, technical assistance and operational support, and fitness for service assessments of e.g. gas transport and storage.

Your tasks include:

  • Deliver technical solutions and services to customer challenges related broadly to pipelines and associated systems. This can include:
    • Technical feasibility and fitness for service assessments for e.g. hydrogen and CO2 transport
    • Technology development, joint industry projects and re-qualification
    • Asset and integrity management
    • Condition assessments and maintenance planning
  • Lead and support the production of technical reports for customers, where possible identifying further business opportunities for DNV
  • Playing a role in targeted business development efforts through proposal development and fostering positive relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Actively contribute to service delivery as specialist and / or project manager.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as mechanical engineering, risk management, flow assurance, corrosion etc.
  • Several years of experience working in the oil and gas/ energy industry, understanding technical challenges
  • Domain knowledge and experience in a relevant technical field, e.g. onshore/ offshore pipeline operations and integrity management, pipeline internal inspection, risk management, H2/CO2 transportation and blending, H2 safety, etc.
  • Knowledge of DNV-OS-F101, NEN 3650/51 and other relevant standards and requirements
  • German and English language fluency.
